The SMF tour's 2009 edition debuted with a stop in Joliette, in collaboration with the new Atlas boutique.
The SMF tour's 2009 edition debuted with a stop in Joliette, in collaboration with the new Atlas boutique. This year's set up was refreshed with a rail over the Coors Light stairs and a flat down flat ledge that seemed to give the riders a reasonable amount of challenge. This year, the winning prize was doubled to 1000 dollars, and distributed across the podium: 1st place gets 500$, 2nd place gets 300$ and 3rd place the rest.
For most of the 40 participating athletes, this was the first opportunity to strap into their bindings. Even though the start was rough for most of them, by the time the battle started they put on an impressive show.
After the competition, Burton broke out the red carpet for the "B" movie premiere at the Roll's Bar in Joliette. Once the movie was over, a fashion show was held to present the new clothing lines from Special Blend, Lifetime and WESC.
